For example, the culturally significant facade renovation of the inner courtyard of the Citycenter Mall in the heart of Helsinki is the handiwork of Laurell.
– The renovation of the inner courtyard was logistically extremely challenging. Tens of thousands of people passed under the construction scaffolding daily. It places quite a lot of demands on site logistics and management, says Antti Virta, the company's project manager.
Rappaustekniikka Laurell uses the JCAD software primarily for creating bids. Virta mentions the speed, user-friendliness, and practicality of the calculation as the main benefits.
– The greatest benefit is that we can offer more projects and send bids worldwide when we have the software. Sometimes bids have a very short submission time, he says.
– It's the modern way to be able to react quickly. I believe we wouldn't be able to offer as many projects without JCAD.
Virta considers material quantity calculation software as natural a tool as accounting software nowadays. Additionally, an electronic quantity list is more easily accessible than physical stacks of paper when needed.
According to Virta, the JCAD software is suitable for all construction professionals who prepare bids from floor plans.
– At the very least, it's worth trying, he says.
